ACUTA's mission is to advance the capabilities of higher education communications and collaboration technology leaders.
ACUTA is an international non-profit educational association serving colleges and universities. ACUTA represents over 1800 individuals at more than 500 institutions of higher education with members ranging from small schools and community colleges to the 50 largest U.S. institutions representing diverse Carnegie classifications in all 50 states, Canada and New Zealand. ACUTA also has Corporate Affiliate members, representing all categories of technology vendors who serve the college/university market.
Be part of ACUTA – an intimate community of your peers from small and large educational institutions. Connect with colleagues for life! Tap into knowledge and experiences through ACUTA unlike any other organization or conference.
Institutional membership is restricted to an accredited college or university and represented by the full-time employee who has the primary responsibility for the control or direction of communications technologies services and budget. These members are typically Director level or higher, and are responsible for data, video communications, and networks in addition to traditional telephony. Membership is categorized by enrollment and Carnegie Classification as published in the most current Higher Education Directory.
Corporate Affiliate members include producers of hardware and software products for communication network infrastructures, providers of voice/data/video services and their associated support technologies, and consultants specializing in the training, evaluation, acquisition and management of these services in a campus environment.
Associate membership is available to individuals who are involved in any phase of communications technologies services at institutions that do not qualify for institutional membership, such as hospitals; federal, provincial, or state agencies; research institutions; college consortia; or other associations of college and university administrators which act directly on behalf of college and university information communications technology services and interest.
Emeritus membership is for retired individuals who have held membership in ACUTA and are no longer receiving a salary from the field of communications and information technology.
Member-in-Transition: ACUTA is pleased to announce a great way for you to network and make connections: a six-month complimentary individual membership available to any former employee of an ACUTA member school or company who becomes unemployed. This new membership level will allow you to continue communicating with the extensive ACUTA network as well as register for events at the member rate. Review the membership application and membership benefits for more information.
