Book Your Room at the JW Marriott within the ACUTA Block and it Might Be Free!
As a special incentive to encourage you to book within the ACUTA block, ACUTA is offering a complimentary guest room for up to 4 nights to one attendee who books his or her room at the JW Marriott within the ACUTA block and registers for the Conference by March 5. Shortly after March 5, ACUTA will conduct a drawing and notify some lucky attendee that his or her hotel room will be FREE. (Last year that lucky person was Travis Cook from Texas Christian University.)
Why are we doing this? In order to secure the type of facilities to hold an event the size of our Annual Conference, ACUTA must select sites years in advance and contract with hotels for the necessary meeting and exhibit space. ACUTA negotiates directly with hotels to secure the best possible rates. We must commit to a minimum number of hotel room nights, and ACUTA relies on its attendees and exhibitors to stay at the Conference hotel to meet this commitment.
Always ask for the ACUTA rate — we do our best to keep your costs as low as possible!
Travel & Transportation
The Travel Authority (800/274-7135 or 859/277-7135) will help you find the lowest fare and most convenient flights when you identify yourself as an ACUTA attendee. They will also assist with upgrades and monitor your reservation for advance changes and any new policies the airlines may put into effect. The Travel Authority has a per-ticket transaction fee of $35 (at the time of printing).
ACUTA has negotiated airfare discounts on Delta, Northwest, and KLM flights. The discount is 5 to 7% on full/nonrestricted fares and 2 to 5% on discounted/restricted fares. The file number is NY28E, which can be used for online bookings or through The Travel authority or other travel agents. This discount is not valid with other discounts, certificates, coupons, or promotional offers.
Transportation to and from the Airport
The JW Marriott is approximately 12 miles from the San Antonio Airport.

Taxis are approximately $40 each way. Rental cars are available at the San Antonio Airport and the JW Marriott and are recommended for downtown San Antonio sight-seeing.
The JW Marriott has complimentary on-site parking; valet parking is $25/overnight.
